Our raw almonds are just that – truly raw! Unlike store-bought “raw” almonds that have been steam heated (organic) or treated with propylene oxide gas (non-organic), our raw almonds have never been treated. This means that none of their nutrient value has been depleted. They’re shelled and packaged in re-sealable bags to protect their delicate flavor and nutritional value. You taste only the nutty goodness of California sunshine. We like to keep ours in the freezer to preserve freshness.
We do everything we can to support Mother Nature in packing as many nutrients into our almonds as possible. Because they’re certified organic, you can be certain that they’re grown without harmful pesticides and without GMO’s. They’re never co-mingled with other almonds, so you can be sure of getting only the best from our family farms.
Almonds are more than delicious
In addition to their nutty flavor and texture, almonds are considered to be a healthful snack, with 6g of energy-giving protein and 4g of hunger-fighting fiber in every handful. Almonds have also been shown to be beneficial for cardiovascular health and can aid in blood-sugar management when eaten as part of a balanced meal. Our almonds are also great for those who prefer a gluten-free or vegan diet.
Conservation on our farms
Ours is not the easiest way to grow almonds, but we think it’s best for our land and for our family who lives and works here. Right on our farm, we collect solar energy that offsets +80% of the power needed to pump water from our wells and into our raised drip irrigation system. We groom the orchard floor for harvest by mowing and burning weeds, rather than using harmful chemicals. All that, plus our hedgerows of native plants support the health of native species and bees who have the most important job – the pollination of the almond flowers.
